Apple has silently introduced a new app Apple Invites which can be downloaded from the App Store that bring people together to share their life’s special moments like Birthdays, Anniversaries any event you can create.
Apple is known for it’s ecosystem that’s the reason they are leading Smartphone market in the world, even their latest iPhone 16 has 60Hz refresh rate wherein other smartphone manufacturers went on to provide 144hz refresh rate. No doubt Apple Invites will make the ecosystem even stronger and also with this they can increase the revenue from Apple Music subscriptions and iPhotos. Let’s get into the details.
What exactly the “Apple Invites” app is?
Apple Invites as the name it’s self says it’s a polished version of calendar invite with a beautiful mobile compatible interface with some extra details such as Weather on the event day, Share Album and Share Music library. But when you create it doesn’t add to the calendar by default even to the host, it needs to be added manually.
It needs to be downloaded as a separate app Apple Invites from App Sote, and of course to create and to accept the event you need Apple Account. What if I don’t have an Apple Account? Still you can access the event information (if they allow public link) like When, Where, and who is hosting etc. What you can’t do is you can’t share the Images Album, Music Library, Notes etc which are specific to Apple Ecosystem.

Whare are the features?
When you create an Apple Invite you can choose the given beautiful high contrast background images or you can choose your own images or you can create images using Apple Intelligence. You can Event Title, Date and Time and Location (Use maps to search for the exact location).
You can add like Host Name and Description of the event like the actual invitation. As this is a new event being created you Can’t select any existing Albums, if you have already created (sorry about that), you need to create an album.
Once the album is created, next you can Share Apple Music Library with the invited people. This is where the game begins.
Apple Invites has two revenue sources, in fact three. One, Shared Album with this more images are shared for the event which will eventually more storage and more subscription. Second, shared music library, apple music is not free people start using apple music (if they haven’t already) which generates 2nd source. And the Third, which is latest is Apple Intelligence. While adding a background you have third option apart from choosing the templates or choose your own images, you can create image on the fly with Apple Intelligence.
What next after invite created?
Once the Apple Invites has been created you can send the invite to iMessage users or can be shared as a link over any shared platforms like WhatsApp, Message App mail etc. If you have apple account you can join the invite and enjoy all the ecosystem, if you haven’t then you can still see the basic details of invite. By default the invite is not added to the calendar, it should be added manually for both Host and people invited.
If there is any communication to be announced like change in timing or venue or in fact any announcement be shared as a Send Note and I feel it’s easy way to share the communication for an event and that’s what Apple is aiming about to build a their ecosystem stronger.
Guest or the invitees can choose where they Go or not going or may be the response is communicated to the host through notification, which can use it for planning other things like food, the gifts etc.
Overall, it’s a new initiative by the Apple to make their eco-system bigger and stronger.
