Google contacts app is not just an app it’s an emotion, because it has contacts of all people whether you love them or hate them or just keep the number with an emotion even if you don’t talk to them (how many contact you have like this 🥰). Emotion is emotion it could be love, your friend, you enemy or even a travel friend. How do you feel when your loved one calls you when you are in depression, just with their name you start crying. Now you can be more emotional with your Google Contacts App.
Contacts app let’s you create and customize the contact icon and create it with emotion emojis, colors and monochrome.
What’s new in Google contacts app?
When you edit the contact icon you see two more options such as Monogram and Illustrations apart from adding your own phots in device or the Google Photos.
What I can do with Monogram?
Rather than accepting what the default monogram given by the Androi, now you can take inspiration from the app by clicking on inspire me which will give you bunch of combinations of colors and font styles. You can update upto two letters by clicking on the circle. If not satisfied you can choose the background color you want and choose font style you want from the pallet given.
How to add emoji to my contact?
While you are in editing screen click on Emoji button beside the Monogram. This let’s you choose the background color of your choice and click on the circle to open the entire range of emojis you can choose from. Choose the perfect one that suits the emotion you have with the contact. You can click on the inspire me which will give you bunch of combination of colors and emojis. Are fan of Monochrome icons? Enable the Monochrome option that let’s convert the Emoji into a Monochrome icon.

What else I can be emotional apart from Monogram?
Google contacts app also has pre-set Illustration images gallery which you can explore and also you can choose the colors inside Illustrations Gallery. For example, choose any Illustration given you will see some presets at the bottom with the different color combinations. Either you can choose the one preset you like or click on the bottom color bucket to choose three different colors combinations. You can also crop the illustration, and rotate left and right which ever the way you want.
All here the limitation is your combination of your emotion with the contact clubbed with your imagination. Let’s be creative with your emotion.

What else now in Google Contacts App?
When you are editing an illustration, a three dot icon appears at the top right corner where you can Undo all changes, if you want to or click on More info which tells you that this particular illustration may appear as a Circle or a Square depending on the Google Service. You can also search an illustration like Bike which will give you all the illustrations related to a bike.
The gap between the Android and iPhone features and customization list becoming bigger and bigger. Although, iPhone is trying to catch up with the customisation like recently it launched dark mode and tinted icon etc. But the way Android is changing is rapid and also in all the ways it’s not far away that Android will beat the smartphone domination of iPhone in the world. Just to recall Android is a software and iPhone is a hardware, but it’s always compared iPhone with Android.
