Stuck in meeting or public place? Received “Voice message” from your ❤️ loved one? Here is how you can read “Voice messages” in WhatsApp. WhatsApp started as a messaging app contrary to default SMS Messaging app. Gradually they introduced Image, Videos. Now, they very effective way to send communication quickly with just one is “Voice Message”. They are great and helpful.
But, think of a scenario where you are in a place where you can’t play the voice such as you may be in a public place, or in a meeting and you can’t play. And, the message may be from your loved ones, what you do.
Considering this situation WhatsApp has come up with this new feature called “Voice message transcripts”, you can literally read the Voice message sent to your inbox.
How to enable “Voice message transcripts”?
- Go to WhatsApp settings
- Click on Chats
- Enable “Voice message transcripts”, choose your preferred “Transcript language”, default is “English”
How it works in realtime?
- Long press the voice message you have received
- Click on the three dots on top right corner
- Click “Transcribe”
That’s it, the whole voice message get’s transcribed just below the Voice Message.
This works in both iOs and Android and also it works when you use WhatsApp as “Linked Device”.

When to use Audio Message?
- It’s quick and easy way to send long message, instead of typing with two hands.
- It’s a one click to record, hence you can use with one hand, while your other hand busy with hold the busy bus.
- To send very important message which no one should read at first glance, and the text don’t even appear in notification window.
- It is more authentic way of communication than a text message, while text message anyone can send from your phone, but voice only you can send.
- Last but not least, where you need to communicate your inner feelings without showing the face, Voice message is the best way to send.
