Nothing released Nothing Phone 3a and 3a Pro on 2nd March, 2025 and it’s on sale from 11th March, 2025. And I bought this two days ago. If you compare Phone 3a with Phone 2a size wise it’s bigger in size with 6.77 inches.
When I held this phone for the first time I feel like a Phone 1 it was flat on both sides, and for the first time Nothing replaced back panel with glass rather than plastic. The frame around Nothing Phone 3a feel more plastic I feel like I have applied case. But in Phone 2a though it was also a plastic but it feels like metallic texture really felt awesome. I feel the same like this iPhone case.
Nothing kept the same 3 part glyph light at the back same like Phone 2a but they made the right glyph from flat to curve and left corner glyph from curve to flat. Truly I didn’t understand the real intention behind this.
Moving on, the flash light position also changed from right to left and also I can the flash light slightly bigger in Phone 3a.
Coming to camera module the position is still same horizontal centered like Pixel phone. In phone 2a each camera was highlighted with a ring around, in Nothing Phone 3a they clubbed the primary and wide angle together and they have introduced Telephoto lens for the first time and as a separate camera.
Both primary and Telephoto are 50 MP camera where as wide angle is 8 MP. Photos are decent and sharp enough. You will also get to see dedicated night photography option. Video stabilisation is pretty decent enough though but front you can record upto 1080p at 30ps only.
Nothing Phone 3a is available in three colors Black, White and Blue.

Nothing phone 3a launched with Android 15 Nothing always maintains stock android without any bloatware and un-necessary pre-installed apps. I have use almost all Nothing phones except Phone 2a and 2a Plus comparing to all Phone 3a finger print censors are fast. That is because Phone 3a comes with for the first time Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor which is a big jump in the processor.
Nothing is known for it’s smooth software and it continues the same in Phone 3a we are not going into detailed review here but daily tasks and multiple tasking is smoother you won’t feel lags and gerks while using. Snapdragon chip handles the performance well and the heat management while doing heavy tasks or playing heavy games.

Nothing Phone 3a, What’s new?
Now the most important and new in Phone 3a. That is this button. Nothing introduced this button I thought it was an action button like iPhone but they named it as “Essential Space” where you can quickly grab a screen shot or photo and take text and voice note with just one click of a button. When you single press it takes a screenshot and waits for you to input either note to type or record. When you long press it takes the screenshot and voice recorder starts automatically. You will find all your idea grabs at AI powered essential space which take anywhere between 30sec to a minute based on the length of the recording and gives you a summary. Not only that it also creates reminders and events based on the what you record.
But there are some improvements needed in Nothing Phone 3a which I will convert in our detailed review. But I see couple of features like Power of verify which is very very useful when you turnoff and on you need to verify. This is really helpful if the phone is stolen at-least no one can immediately turn off.
I don’t mind to say I am little bit biased for Nothing phones because they are. There was a time people are biased for Xiaomi phones. Because Nothing’s focus more on what a daily user does rather than flashy stuff such as too much of AI, unnecessary low quality cameras.
